I learned from Mailchimp that they’re changing their pricing: “We’re updating Free Marketing plan limits”. My swim team has 301 subscribers to its email list, the new upper limit for Mailchimp’s free tier is 250 contacts. Darn. Though I have gotten years of free service from them, so thank you Mailchimp!
I recenlty learned about a service called Buttondown that specializes in sending email newsletters (I still need to learn more about them; they may be the right fit to replace Mailchimp). They seem to be a cool, independent, small business. They’ve go awesome documentation including a page on alternatives to their service.
Their businesses is built on top of email service providers; they provide an interface and then use one of multiple email sending services to get that email to your inbox. They helpfully have a whole comparision page about it!
And the search on their website is fabulous.
